Guilty Pleasure

June 19, 2024

Guilty Pleasure is a dynamic 7-piece band that loves to play the greatest dance and rock music from the last six decades. Their goal is to deliver an irresistible groove that fills you with joy and makes you want to move your whole body and soul. The band pays homage to the masters, from Aretha, to Stevie, to Earth, Wind & Fire and beyond.

Guilty Pleasure invites you to appreciate the talents of the one-and-only fabulous Mary Houston on lead vocals, and we think you’ll enjoy the swirling harmonies that surround her, as Neesee Engebrecht and the rest of the band chip in on background vocals. (Make sure to sing along with them).  You can also expect some very fine “soul-oing” from Keegan Saunders on sax, Tim Spangberg on guitar, and Russ Pfeifer on keys. Get ready to be uplifted! And of course, all this soulful celebration rests rock solid in the deep dapper pocket provided by the rhythm section, featuring Jack Hourcade on bass and Peter Billings on drums.

You won’t want to miss this week’s concert with Guilty Pleasure. Put on your boogie shoes and join us for a fantastic time!

Shenanigans

June 26, 2024

Founded in 2019, Shenanigans is a high energy, multi-genre band covering country, rock and blues hits from the 50’s through the millennia. Though they especially like 80’s rock, Shenanigans strives to be one of the only local bands who cover almost anything.

Starting out just before Covid shut down, this band has already enjoyed a myriad of special performances, including opening for Ned LeDoux.  Shenanigans is popular throughout the Magic Valley, from Hagerman clear through to Lava Hot Springs.

Kung Fu Chimps

July 3, 2024

The Kung Fu Chimps band was founded in 2010 by 3 Magic Valley natives: Andy, Kevin and Shawn. Together these 3 musicians have over 100 years of performance experience!  The band features Shawn Bryan on guitar and vocals, Kevin Sanborn on bass and vocals and Andy Lindquist on drums and vocals.  The Kung Fu Chimps play not-so-standard covers from classic and ‘90s Rock, Dark country and a handful of originals.  We’re finally letting them out of their cages to play this year’s Twin Falls Tonight series.

Tylor & the Train Robbers

July 10, 2024

For the past decade, Tylor & the Train Robbers have been blazing trails, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. Brothers Tylor Ketchum, Jason Bushman, and Tommy Bushman form the core of this musical powerhouse. Tylor, the eldest, takes the reins as the band’s frontman, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter, weaving stories through his lyrics. “Ketchum has a voice laced with the same western gravelly baritones that tend to stand out as “Western” but his approach is decidedly more rock than country, and his delivery still touches on poetic.” Jason, on bass and backup harmonies, and Tommy, on drums and harmony vocals, provide the steady heartbeat and backbone that defines the band’s signature sound. Completing the quartet is Rider Soran, whose Lead Guitar, Pedal Steel, and Lap Steel chops add layers of depth and emotion to their music. “Perhaps no band combines what Western roots music has always been and what it will become quite like the Train Robbers. It is this combination of tradition and fresh take that makes them a must-listen.”

Heath Owens Band

July 24, 2024

Heath Owens grew up in Kimberly, Idaho in a family of music lovers and was exposed to a variety of musical genres at a young age. His love for music led him to take up the guitar and he’s been playing and singing ever since. He comes from a long line of musicians on both sides of his family, most notably, his great grandfather Country Music Legend Buck Owens (engineer of The Bakersfield Sound). He draws inspiration from a wide range of artists and his music is a reflection of his life experiences and emotions. Heath is constantly experimenting with different chord progressions, blue grass picking styles and melodies. When it comes to songwriting, he believes that the best music comes from the heart and creates an avenue for contentment which draws deep memories and emotions out of each listener.

The band has been together for just 1 year and includes Heath on lead guitar and vocals,  Heath’s brother, Tennessee Owens on backup vocals, harmonies and rhythm guitar, Chase Mollerup on drums and Mike Bryan on bass .

LC and the Drifters

July 31, 2024

This band started in 2018 as a trio with just two guitarists, Dan Preucil and Seth Wheeler, and a lead singer, Jennifer Ostyn. They had been friends for many years, playing a bit on “music night get-togethers” but they never did anything formal or played in front of anyone except family – an easy audience. A dear friend of theirs decided that they needed to take the next step, so in a trial by fire, he booked a venue for a Valentine’s party and told the band they were playing. No outs. That was the beginning of it all. They were hooked on performing. The band added a drummer, Masen Moffit, their own “Wonder Kid,” and then a keyboardist and backup singer, Cherry Myre and became LC and the Drifters. They are super informal in their song choices and practices. The band motto is: if it’s fun, and we can sing it and play it, we perform it. Translation – they play pop, rock, alternative, grunge, bluegrass, etc., from any decade. The band has such a great time practicing and performing together that they hope to keep rockin’ for as long as their hips and brains hold out.
